Bag Tag Information

The main goal of the Texarkana bag tags is to add an extra element of fun and competition to casual, league, and tournament play. Purchase of a bag tag is your membership due for the Texarkana Disc Golf Association for the year 2009.

The charge for a bag tag/club membership is $10.00.

The initial $6.75 of this fee will cover the cost of the tag. $1.25 will benefit the club. The remaining $2.00 will be added to a cookout fund. We will hold a cookout toward the end of the year for club members and families. We will set up a temporary course for this, most likely at Smith Park.

BAG TAG RULES

Your goal is to have the lowest number bag tag. There are many other clubs and organizations that have bag tags. This only applies to the TDGA (Texarkana Disc Golf Association) bag tags. HAVE FUN and follow the rules and friendly spirit of disc golf. Be sure to keep your tag visible to other players.

After receiving your tag, you may challenge other members with a lower number tag. When challenging, players must agree upon a time for the challenge that both can meet. If a challenge cannot be made in a 2-week period, it is void and the players must look for new challenges. Life can be busy, but please don’t avoid a challenge because you are scared!

If a challenge is made, those players cannot participate in any other challenges until theirs is settled. A 1 round maximum is allotted for a challenge, unless both players agree otherwise. If the challenger has a lower score in the round, the defending player must exchange this/her tag to the challenger. If play is stopped in the middle of the round for a legitimate reason (weather, emergency, etc), tags are not exchanged. Otherwise, if a defending player does not complete a challenge round, tags must be exchanged.

When playing in a tournament or league, all players with tags automatically have a challenge within their group. In tournament or league play, challenges within the player’s group take precedence over other challenges from another card.

Outside tournament or league play, a defending player may accept or deny a back-to-back challenge, until one of the players have participated in another challenge OR one week has passed.

Players caught hiding low number tags will be publicly ridiculed and will possibly be asked to exchange their tag for the highest number tag available.

Lets not get carried away and be cutthroat about challenges. Keep it friendly and HAVE FUN!!!

In the event of a lost tag, it is up to the player to replace the tag. Replacements can be purchased at Rogers Trophy Shop on Texas Boulevard.
